Pump overhaul process

Pump maintenance is a process in which a pump is thoroughly checked, cleaned and, if necessary, repaired. Individual components are also replaced if necessary to ensure the proper performance of your pump.

Here are the typical steps that are carried out during a pump service:

1. Inspection & disassembly: our specialist staff will check your pump for defects. All parts are first visually inspected for wear, cracks, corrosion and other damage. The pump is then dismantled into its individual parts. Particularly vulnerable components such as the impeller, bearings and seals are then checked.
2. Replacement and repair: Any defects found are documented and repaired in consultation with you. Wearing parts such as sealing rings are replaced if necessary.
3. Cleaning: All parts of the pump are thoroughly cleaned. Dirt and deposits are removed.
4. Commissioning & functional test: Once all parts have been checked and repaired or replaced, the pump is reassembled. The overhauled pump is tested under operating conditions to verify its proper performance.

How often does a wastewater or mud pump need to be serviced?

It is important to follow the pump manufacturer's specific maintenance recommendations, as these can vary depending on the model and area of application. We generally recommend servicing your pump annually or after around 40 hours of operation. If your pump is not used regularly, you should still start and test it regularly.

Pump inspection center Otelfingen

Our pump inspection center is located in our RUBAG branch in Otelfingen. However, you can also hand in your pump at any other RUBAG branch. We will coordinate the maintenance internally for you and you can then collect the overhauled pump from the drop-off location.

Our service technicians can also carry out the pump overhaul at your premises on request.
